The anime classic returns to the big screen. Lights trace after motorbikes as they
weave their way through the neon-bathed metropolis of Neo-Tokyo in this
extraordinary cyberpunk vision. The young gang member Tetsuo is abducted by the
military and subjected to experiments that unlock psychic powers within him,
but as his powers grow beyond his control, so does his taste for death and
destruction. It is now up to his best friend Kaneda to stop Tetsuo’s rampage before
Neo-Tokyo is annihilated. ‘Akira’ played a large part in introducing Western
